I need ideas please, it has gravel instead of a lawn and a crazy paving patio. Would like to put down a lazy lawn for dc to have slide etc and a small veg plot/raised bed but beyond my budget so will have to make do with just brightening it up so that it's pleasant to sit in , need ideas for low maintenance plants in pots etc .

My garden is miniscule with no grass or lazy lawn - just paved.

I think the main thing is to get plenty of green in there . We had two raised beds built but you could do similar with large pots.

If you like the idea of a veg plot , then how about herbs in pots .
Lavender , Sage , Mint , rosemary , thyme are all pretty easy to grow . I would go for the biggest pots you can and put one of each type per pot , that way you can make sure you position them best for the plant (eg lavender in full sun)

Box is quite forgiving in pots as are bay trees.

If you get some evergreen plants in there then you could then have some pots you use for seasonal planting (eg spring bulbs , perlagoniums , ) for some colour throughout the year. Hydrangeas and patio roses can do well also.
The main thing with pots is to keep them watered which is why I suggest the biggest you can.

Clematis is high impact for not too much ground space.
