Seedlings all died, too late to start again?

I went away with dc at Easter leaving DH in charge of the plants, he left all of them outside despite strict instructions not to and they all died! The only ones to have survived are the sweetpeas of which I have about 15 plants, all look a bit spindly to me but not too bad. I had planted dahlia and cosmos mainly. I also direct sowed seeds which don't seem to have grown at all.

Is it time to give up and buy plants if I want colour this summer? I have plenty more seeds so could try again but only if they will flower this summer.

never too late to buy plants!

Sow them again, still plenty of time. Smile

My self seeded cosmos are only just germinating outside now so they naturally are only just starting. So, perfect timing if you look at it that way.
