Recommend a quick climbing hardy one that stays grown or grows again itself please

I have an ugly arch and I need a pretty climber to cover it and grow fast (because I'm impartient!) that will stay looking nice and won't need regrowikg every year will just do itself

Needing pruning is fine but I would like it to cover the arch for as long as possible
Flowers are a must
Smell would be nice

Passion flower, honeysuckle, clematis?

Climbing rose? I have "nightlight" from here next to my front door on some trellis and it Gris very quickly, lovely scent too

Well, you could order a clematis and a rose for it and that's give you maximum coverage through the year?

Roses will need pruning in the autumn and clematis needs pruning just after valentines day. Then add fertiliser for good growth and flowers

Both together? Do they get tangled up do you put one each side so 2 clematis and 2 roses or will one plant grow over an arch so should I plant a rose one side and a clematis the other or should both be on one side?
Can I do both at once or does one need to grow first?

Depends on how wide the arch is tbh!

I would plant a rose on one side and clematis on the other. Dig a nice deep hole for each, add compost and a small amount of fertiliser, shove plants in and top up with compost and water very well. Spend 5 mins twice a week tying the shoots into the arch where you want them. Yes you can plant both now

Hopefully at the top of the arch they will make a lovely flowery tangle

So one side will be a rose and the other side will be a clematis? Will they grow down the other side?

Some clematis are evergreen (or semi evergreen). That would limit your choice too!
