Small metal arbour

I think one of these would be perfect for my smallish garden. I have seen a couple I like on line with benches attached. I'm worried about stability, don't these things just sink into the ground? (I presume they have metal spikes?) I could just get a wooden one, but want something that doesn't require much maintenance, also love the look of the more ornate ones.

I have one, although not as ornate. If you sit it on a couple of paving slabs it won't sink or get muddy/weedy. Then you have planting holes either side to grow your climbers in.

Did you use any fasteners or anything on the paving slab to stop it from just toppling over?

No, once the climbing roses got going they anchored it down!
