They were a present but I'd love to grow some.

Are they peonies?

I think so too.

Especially if that is a bud on the left, like a tight round ball.

I thought of Ranunculus, but they look too big. Do you grow big ones?

I've never had any success growing them, but have deathly dry chalk soil so am limited.

I've ordered some bulbs and will let you know.
