To prune or not to prune?

Gardeners World email says to prune my buddelja this week. It really needs doing, too.

Is it ok to do when we're getting frosty mornings?

It should be fine to prune it - it is very hardy and we will often get frosts up into May time anyway ....

Yes, depending how big it is you can take them down a long way, and they still come back. They can make an amazing amount of growth in a season.

Even if new leaves come and then get frosted, it will still bounce back (too much so, in some situations.)

They can also self-seed, so if you notice seedlings that you don't want, dig out before get too big.
