Enriching a north facing flower bed

What do you wise gardeners recommend for really enriching a flower bed with roses growing in it. North facing - roses are white flower carpet.

What do you mean by 'enriching'? Improving the soil? Or doing more planting?

Composted manure. Roses love it. Mulch it around them really thickly and they will love you for it.
