When you inherited it, did that person keep it inside or outside?

I don't think outdoor yukkas have bark. Cordyline does which looks a bit like an indoor yukka. I suppose if you looked at the pot and leaves and then determined whether they were dirty with soil and detritus, or whether they were clean but perhaps just a bit dusty?

I bet you it's an indoor yukka as it's 6' I bet you couldn;t get a pot big enough to grow an outdoor yukka 6'. If it's an indoor yukka, they do tend to like being pot-bound.

Well bottom half barkish then its where the leaves have grown?? They said indoors but then put in garage, we've got it in conservatory but seems to be dyin?? Leaves have gone all spotty and limp. I no good with plants! even watercress dies in MY fridge!!

It's possibly in shock. It's been moved from a cool place to a conservatory where it is absolutley baking! But spotty and limp sounds like cordyline. Hmmm. Any chance of a piccie?

If you go to member profiles you can add it there.. you may have to resize it though. You can send it to my email if you like though - squarer1970 at hotmail dot co dot uk, substituting the obvious bits and removing the spaces!
