I haev some blue-ish berries growing in my allotment (a legacy from the previous occupant) and I SOOOO want them to be blueberries but I don't know what they are

Does anyone grow blueberries, or bilberries, or know of any dusky blue-ish small berries which definitely AREN'T edible?

Thanks

erm not too sure about the inedible ones! I just picked some bilberries for the first time ever and they were like really really small blueberries growing in a hedge that I thought was a hawthorn hedge as I am very ignorant on these kind of things. sorry as that obviously isn't very helpful!

Did they have a sort of dusky bloom on them? Like plums sometiems do? And did they have a little green bit, like the non-stalk end of an apple?

Are they on a small bush? I should think that if they are on an allotment then they probably are edible wouldn't you think! We have some growing but they aren't ready yet and may not be for another few weeks hth

cut one open - they're a green colour inside too
