I got a bag of manure from a farm 2 weeks ago and dug it in today. It looked different to what I was expecting, kind of , well, still poo like Confused

Does that mean it wasn't rotted? Will it still be beneficial to the garden? Please say yes cos it was hard work! !

probably not, but at this time of year it will rot in nicely before the seedlings go near it in the spring
if it still looks like poo, the only plant that really likes it is melons!

Thanks for your reply! Does that mean I shouldn't plant spring bulbs in that soil?

hmmmm if its well mixed in you should be ok - straight manure is quite acid and will burn them

i wish id known it wasn't rotted as i didn't mix it in i just laid it down and then put the mud back over it. you live and learn i guess-i am a complete newbie to this gardening malarky!
