How do you water the plants without overflowing all over the place?

thats the pain of growbags! sink a plant pot into the compost next to each plant... then put the water into the pot...works a bit better. trick is not to let the growbags dry out too much

Slowly and steadily.

Try a home made irrigation system. Get some plastic lemonade bottles. Punch some holes down one side. Fill bottle - ok so this bit is tricky but pretend you are playing the recorder and cover all holes with fingers . Put lid on tightly and lay bottle on surface of growbag, hole side down.

Mmm, good ideas. Glad to see I'm not ctually doing something wrong! I've got three plants in individual holes in each growbag, so I thought I might buy some funnels and stick one through the bag next to each plant. Wanted to check that I wasn't totally loopy before doing that though.

I've got a special watering thing - a funnel at one end of a long, perforated tube. You push the tube along inside the grobag and once it's in you can water evenly to all three holes. Works a treat and worth the money if you want to spend

Funnel idea works fine. You can use the tops of bottles to do that too, just cut through the body of the bottle a couple of inches down from the neck.
