Ask the house owner what it is. Or ask if you could nip a stem off and take it to a plant nursery or good garden centre to identify.

PC - if you are going to ask for a cutting to identify, may as well try potting it up and see if it roots, no?

do what my mother does, take a secretares next time you go for a walk and steal a small cutting, dip it in rooting powder, plant it and see does it grow. chances are it will!
