Too late for sunflowers?

Ds2 planted 2 sunflowers at playgroup, loved and watered them, planted them out and they both died. Is it too late in the year to start again?

Hi

I've got a packet of sunflower seeds and it says "sow from March to May" and flowers from "June to October". I planted some indoors a couple of weeks ago and planted them out 10 days ago so I'm sure you're not too late!

in Adsa they have a sunflower set thingie reduced to £2, it has a large pot and seeds etc.

hi, i bought my seeds ages ago, completely forgot about them. found them last week and planted them. i already have 3 lovely looking seedlings, meant to take 14-21days to appear apparently, so i guess i am just some sort of green fingered garden guru Grinmind you, i did kill a small tree by forgetting to water it.......
