What would you expect to pay?

I have 3 trees in my front garden - one holly and two lilacs and they are about 1.5m tall. I need them pruned and my DH says a normal gardener can't do that? Do I rang a tree surgeon and have been quoted £250! Is that a good price?

Any qualified/skilled gardener can do that. It doesn't need to be a tree surgeon.

if they are that small then anyone can do them, I wouldn't pay that much for trees that height. If trees are tall enough that someone needs to climb up them with a chainsaw THEN it becomes a different situation and yes I would suggest a tree surgeon because of insurance etc.
