Help my mint!

My mint keeps getting covered in white spots and I think its leafhoppers as I've seen some white things moving in the air above the mint when i cut it back to regrow it.

How do I get rid of them, I cut my mint back once already and it bounced back quickly only to get covered in white spots again - am I right that you cannot eat those mint leaves?

Not leafhoppers, they aren't white. Sounds more like whitefly. They tend to fly from the infested plant when you brush the leaves. (Usually they're more of a greenhouse pest iirc.)

Personally I would spray with insecticide. If you chop it back again, spray the new growth with insecticide before you see any bugs. Obviously you would want to spray in the evening when less beneficial insects are about, and to reduce the risk of scorched leaves from sunshine.

Agree it sounds like whitefly - I'd just rinse it off with plain water plus drop of WupLiquid.
