Help. My radishes are not cooperating.

My radishes are putting all their energy in to the green tips and not the root.

If I cut the tops will that get them to redirect the energy or just kill them off?

I read last week that it is because they are not getting enough water and will therefore go to see - i.e. lots of green and flowers, this happened to me last year. Try cutting the green down and keep it under control, making sure they are not in too strong sun and well watered.
