Why are my trailing petunias dying?

In one tub only. All the rest are thriving, but these are in a basket, which is hung in dappled shade, but also quite a lot of sun, and they are dying?

Why why?

I have a basket of them and the half that's in full sun are thriving, the half round the back died (in shade) - now they're on my allotment which is why I didn't see they needed turning at first and by the time I realised they sulked and died.

I'm also watering every day and feeding twice a week, the ones in the sun look like poster girls for petunias!

The leaves are ok, and they produce lots of blooms, but then the blooms wilt and die before they really open into flower
