Novice gardener and her grass!!

We have 4 decent size areas of grass surrounding the new house. Due to one thing and another its been nearly 5 weeks since I was last able to cut it...and it's looking horrendous! Loads of weeds (I think !) have sprung up, dandelions, buttercups, purple moss type thing and hundreds of white/cream flower type things!! Is there something I can put down to kill off the crap but maintain the grass?'

You can buy weed feed & moss killer in granules that you scatter and water in

I use it once a month or so, just homebase brand, nothing fancy but it does the job
