mixing fencing

does anyone have more than one type of fencing in their garden? I have a bit that backs onto a paddock, where I wanted rail and post so we can see into it, and another bit that backs onto some storage where I don't want to see through so was thinking of a tall solid fence. Has anyone mixed fence types and been happy with it? thanks

Your idea sounds fine to me.

I read recently (in The Garden?) that it wasn't essential to have the same style of fencing all around the garden, but styles/materials should be compatible. If I get my way over replacement of one of our fences, it won't be identical to the other two, but it should tie-in as they will all be wooden and topped with treliis.
