Help ID this shrub/tree thing...

So our first summer in this house - my first garden! Out there today, I noticed one of the shrubs/small tree type bushes has now grown berries, or fruit, on it - and was inordinately delighted to see they're heart shaped! DP has duly christened it the 'bush of love' but I suspect that's not what it is officially known as Grin

Any ideas? I've put a picture on profile (from which you can see the said berry/fruit and leaves) the stalks are thick and woody.

Thanks!

I wondered whether it's a Euonymus - a spindle shrub/small tree?

Ahem, that should be a spindle (common name) which is a shrub or small tree.

Hmm. Not sure. I've googles imaged a few pages worth and can't see one that looks similar to that which is growing in my garden (it's about 7ft tall, I guess, looking at it now against the 5ft fence). The leaves aren't at all thick and/or waxy, very thin and 'fresh' looking for want of a better word.

However, I did just read something about ermine moths liking them as a main food source and I happened to find one yesterday! For a moth, it was soooo pretty (pure white, little furry head and black dots over wings). It feigned death and I held it a while.

So perhaps it is a type of spindle, I don't know.

I'm just keen to know what these berries are so that if the baby manages to ingest one somehow (as they do, even when you think you're watching their every move) I will know whether it's panic stations or not! The people that planted the garden didn't have young children in the house so I doubt they considered it. Perhaps I even need to consider removing it.
