i've got one that i would like to plant in the garden but don't know if they're hardy enough for British summer? Looked on several websites but can't seem to find out... anyone know?

Go for it ! When there are deffo no frosts to be had, and no really cold nights (say 5 or more I guess), I expect your plant will be just fine !

I just planted a mother-in-law's tongue outside. It loves it out there, will grow all Summer and then either get taken in (if I get my act together) or get mutilated off by the Winter frosts. (I did this last year, so speak from at least one year of experience ! Grin)
