Our lawn is ful of ants nests. We tried ant nematodes last year and they worked to an extent but thers just oo many so it wasn't really so good. We soent lots of the summer with cinnamon on our feet to deter the ants from attacking us.

This year I'm resigned to having to use poison to get rid of them anyone got anything good they can recommend which is safe for kids and cats too?

we used to use the nippon gel stuff.. you can get it in a pack with a plastic thing with a lid on i think.

you just put some inside and it's all sweet and stick and the ants come and get it and take it back to the nest, so it's supposed to kill everything in the nest as well!

it seemed to do the trick

We just pour a kettle of boiling water over the ants' nests in our garden. (Well, I get dh to do it because I'm too soft.) As far as I remember we only had to do it once last Summer and they didn't trouble us again after that. Yesterday I discovered lots of ant hills so we put boiling water on all of them.
