pooed in the tub with all the rosemary, thyme and parsley in, would you chuck out the lot? Or is it organic.....?

Am currently of the chucking (cat and herbs) opinion.

did it go on the leaves or just the soil?

ggglimpopo · 30/03/2006 12:48

I think that he has been using it for a while now, so I imagine both. Cat poo carries some real nasties so I think I am going to have to bin the lot. Damn shame as they are thriving (probably all that effing cat sh*t).

bin it
I would

ggglimpopo · 30/03/2006 12:49

Anyone want a cat?

I wouldn't use it no. Do you have to bin them if they are thriving though? Could they now stay int he garden looking and smelling nice? Or do they not smell nice now either?

Cats are likely to be up to their tricks all the time - you just happen to be aware of it now.

Clear anything obvious from the soil, trim back any obviously stained foliage and then put citrus peel around the area to avoid reoccurence.

Wash anything you pick for cooking well under a running tap.

No point in wasting good plants.

mmmm, cat with thyme herb......

tastes just like chicken!

PinkTulips · 30/03/2006 12:58

i think i'd have to agree with StGeorge here, clean them up and cut them back and then leave them grow for a while to ensure they're clean, then just make sure you clean them before use which you'd have to do anyway.

not sure what the best cat deterrant would be but i've heard something about washing up liquid putting them off?

ggglimpopo · 30/03/2006 13:00

The cat is called Arthur but is known as "P*sser" as since the baby he has peed all over the place (even the fruit bowl, ffs) and is now banished outside. Now he has taken to pooing partout as well. Frigging animal. Go on, anyone want a cat that miaows in French?

I am going to bin it all because of dd4 - am worried that the soil is contaminated and she might touch it (or eat it, ugh ugh ugh) and then end up with a lurgy. And I raised the parsley from seed. Grrrr.

poo is organic on the soil not on the leaves that you might eat raw. i'd plant some catnip so they get distracted and immagine there are products like 'off cat' go to the loo somewhere else you can use to put them off.
