Planting spring bulbs

I've just planted some iris and daffodil bulbs in pots - do I need to keep these watered over the winter??? Novice gardener seeking advice.

Just make sure they don't dry out altogether but don't need to be wet, bulbs can be prone to rotting. Pot should be on feet to ensure it drains if the weather is very wet.
