Early! How can I protect the bay olive trees I planted in big pots. They are too heavy to move so I wondered if there was some kind of cover or something I can buy to protect them in situ?

thanks in advance

We had frost forecast too (darn sarf coast) but didn't get it in the end. My poor squashes and cucumbers.

Received a leaflet from this company Garden Gear where you can buy fleece for plants. But olives are hardier than you might think. Mine survived the last few severe winters without protection (although they are close to the house and somewhat sheltered.)

Thanks for the link. I will have a look. Fleeces for trees, what a good idea.
I wondered if they would cope but the last 2 years have been really hard frosts here (Scotland)

Get some horticultural fleece from any garden centre (or Wilko's - cheap) and wrap them up. however it's not the frost that kills them but waterlogging then freezing of the roots. Make sure they are in a place where they won't get all the rain.
