I need a new lawnmower, any suggestions?

3/4 acre on a slope. My old mower blew up today! I need a self propelled petrol mower. Dh hay fever is so bad this year the lawn is down to me and it's growing at bamboo speeds, when it isn't raining!
Where do I start?

I've got a reconditioned Mountford, £100.00 from a good local firm. Absolutely brilliant, never let me down in the 5 years I've had it. I have it serviced, blades sharpened and cleaned up for £50.00 every year by the same firm.

I love my mower!

Apparently the newer Mountfords are not as well built / good / reliable as the old.....so I'm told.

Gave up and went to B&Q today and got a machine that will do.
