I am new to gardening and want to start growing vegetables. I am considering buying some raised beds but I only have a concrete patio. Would anything actually grow under such conditions?

Thanks

Yes!! Try Harrod Horticultural - they have a really good range. I line mine with black pool liner anyway before I fill them with compost, so it doesn't matter what's underneath. We also have lots of hanging baskets for strawberries, herbs etc... and some things like asparagus are better in pots as you don't renew them every year - also, use a potato bag for your tatties otherwise they spread everywhere. Have fun!!!

it is so easy to make your own raised beds. there are gudies on the net and it takes less than an hour! you can buy the wood cut to size from a timber merchant and it works out a fraction of the price plus you get the exact size you want.
I would build a double hieght one for on concrete so you have a nice deep growing space. line the bottom with garden fleece. You will need a lot more soil than you think so watch for that! it took about a ton to fill my 4ft x 6ft double height raised bed but now I have veg growing brilliantly in it!
