Just want to go GRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!!!!

I had been wondering why the lavender next to my front path is not flourishing, despite good conditions and enough water... and me and DS have been admiring the pretty metallic beetles in the lavender for ages.

NOW I realise they EAT the new shoots and have been causing die back, argh! How did I not know this?!

There has been a beetle messacre today. Hurrah. And DS will have beetle crushing duties every day after school.

[Note: I do not usually advocate killing bugs]

Oh LordFlash this happend to me the other day! I was sitting there thinking "Wow! What a gorgeous beetle!"

It was sitting on my rosemary bush. I went in and googled it and there it was the pretty little shit. I now realise that MY lavendar has not flourished either and is close to where my Rosemary is!

I didn't connect the two till' I read your post!

I hope I haven't got a tonne of them in my lavendar but I BET there are!

Oh I'm sad to hear they got yours too, HOTC! Go check! I have lost about 6 big lavenders already, got around 18 lining the path, hoping they will recover now, apparently they lay dormant over winter in soil so will have to check and crush forever now.... argh
