Is it too late for strawberries?

I am a complete idiot novice when it comes to growing things. Today I bought some strawberry plants and have put them in a raised planter thing in our garden but on reading the info that came with them Im wondering if they're doomed? It said they should be planted before April but I'm hoping that the rubbish current weather may mean I'm ok or am I all wrong Confused

Thanks for any advice!

Mine are all in flower now and I often get 2 crops a year if the autumn is warm- you might be lucky! I was picking up until October last year.

Ah well I might be lucky then. If nothing else they do look quite pretty Grin

If you buy frozen runners from Ken Muir www.kenmuir.co.uk/ or Blackmoor Nurseries www.blackmoor.co.uk/ they will crop in 6 weeks time and still be lovely for next year.
Honeyoye is good, as is Marais de Bois and Darlisette.
