Can anyone recommend a great grass seed?

I need to seed a large new area of lawn, once the heavy rains stop and it won't get washed away!

It needs to be a durable lawn, boys playing football on it etc, and I know you can get seeds with a variety of different things in, but really wanted a bit more advice on it, has anyone used some and its worked well?

Dont bother with the tesco seed as it doesnt germinate

The sainsburys seed doesn't germinate either.
