Germinating tomatoes

This is a dodgy food thread or gardening.
I had left some tomatoes on the kitchen windowsill since the warm spell in March. Chopped them up for cooking and found that the seeds inside had germinated.
If I planted these would they set fruit or be sterile? Supermarket toms in the first place.

Most commercial growers use v hybridised, F1 seed, so whilst they may well set fruit (in a greenhouse, or pollytunnel or similar, depending on where you live!), they're unlikely to be as "good" as if you just bought some tomato seeds of a named variety.
