Geraniums - from last year

I brought my geranium in from the cold last year, kept it in a cool place, didn't water it at all and now have moved it to the conservatory and have started watering it. Am I supposed to cut off dead looking stems? I have a feeling I should have done this before bringing it in though.

It is growing again, just not on the dead bits.

Yes, take off the dead bits, have you potted it on? I would if not. The dead bits usually just sort of come away if you pull them gently. And start putting it outside in the daytime it'll toughen it up. They're very easy to take cuttings from once it's really got going.
