Erecting fence posts in dry, root-filled soil

I have 2 four foot high rustic fence panels to erect to provide a screen across part of our garden. They'll be going in a tree area - the soil is dusty-dry and absolutely laden with roots; digging of any sort is practically impossible. Could anyone suggest how I might be able to erect 3 posts into such difficult terrain to support the panels? Help gratefully received!
