advice please re gravel garden

Hi there,we have a large area out front covered with gravel which is south facing.What sort of plants grow well here?Would particularly like some plants to attract butterflies.Thanks

Buddleia are sometimes called 'butterfly plants' - but they can grow quite big, another one that butterflies and bees seem to like a lot I can't quite remember the name of - something like cotton aster?
Butterflies quite like weeds really - brambles and nettles, but probably not quite the look you're after Smile
