Woody lavender?

I have a small lavender bush, there are new green leaves appearing but the bottom looks a bit woody. Can I improve how it looks or leave well alone.

It's still a bit early to be pruning lavender - if there's a late frost, the plant would be susceptible to frost damage. When you do prune it, don't cut right back to the old wood as the plant won't regenerate - read the advice from the RHS here.

Wips - The RHS site has an advice page for virtually everything. It is fab (and no, I'm not on a retainer).

GoingOn40 - If I defy medical science and have twins, I may call them Woody and Lavender.
