Question about changing my garden

Hi there,

I have a small garden with gravel. It's not nice to walk on, it hurts so you have to wear hard shoes or boots. I want grass put down so it's better for dd and friends to play on. I have permission to do this, now its up to me to sort it out.

Whats' cheaper: finding a local landscaper who'll remove gravel and put in grass? or do this myself? I haven't done it before.

New to gardening.

Bag up the gravel and put it outside your house, where gravel fiends will take it. A landscaper will cost lots for a very do-able DIY job. Having said that, how large is the gravelled area?
