Anyone grown a rose in a container?

I am running out of space in my small garden and would love a white/fragrant rose in a tub.
Most of the gardening websites seem to say no, unless they are patio or minature roses which I don't like.

Anyone done this and got any tips? i want on which will be bushy but only grows to about 3-4 high for a sunny corner of the patio.

Not growing tips as such as all my container roses are alive and well so far through luck I think, not expertise! If you go to the David Austion website and click on "Not sure which rose to chose" on the left hand side, scroll down to Pots and Containers. Can't see any white ones, but if DA says it's ok for some types of rose to go in a pot I'm not going to argue!

I have ordered Glamis which is white and compact. DA was a bit iffy about roses in tubs except for patio ones, but I ordered this from Crocus and they said it was fine for tubs. it grows to about 3 feet high.

I grow several- my Blue Moon has done particularly well.
Absolutely nothing out of the ordinary, but I put them in full sun, top dress each year and work in feed pellets, and a good hard trim in February, so no different to normal really!
