I planted some in winter, but couldn't be sure I planted them the right way up. I am now surveying the empty spot nervously, as there is no sign of them yet.

Is there still hope for me?

Outs are up but in pots in the greenhouse. Outside will be later

I have some tips nudging through, planted them outside in pots (south-east) the beginning of November.

I can't remember when i planted mine. Probably around the same time as you Laurie. I am getting jittery now.

Mine are poking up but we're south-east too so may be dependant on where you are?

I have just been out this morning and I can now see three or four tips coming through! Very exciting.
So I guess that means that I either didn't plant them upside down, or they worked their way around.

yes about 2 inches high .

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 07/03/2012 19:37

Yes, a couple of inches showing now (old bulbs, planted a couple of years ago).

Blackpuddingbertha · 07/03/2012 19:57

Checked on mine again today - they would be growing nicely if the rabbits weren't eating them!

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 07/03/2012 20:01

That is one consolation of urban gardening - no rabbits!

Blackpuddingbertha · 07/03/2012 21:14

I can lend you some Maud.

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 07/03/2012 21:15

Please no. With the foxes there would be a bloodbath.

Blackpuddingbertha · 08/03/2012 20:12

That's ok - although I said 'lend' I wouldn't actually want them back.

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 08/03/2012 20:21

Yes, but I have had once to remove a severed limb of something - cat? rabbit? - that the foxes left on the lawn and I have no wish to repeat the boak-worthy experience!

in pots about 5-6 inches, in beds they are just poking through
