anyone done it? I am reading that it flowers the 2nd year so if I buy a plant from a supplier, will it flower this year or not?

I've grown it a few years ago... Did really well - rivaling the fennel in a who can get the tallest competition! :)

It is a biennial so wants to flower the 2nd year but I never let it so it turned into an admittedly short lived perennial.

The seed doesn't remain fertile for very long so it may well be a root grown cutting - the only way to know for sure is to ask the supplier if you especially want it for the flowers.
