Rose thorns

Another (hopefully quick) rose related question, but where can you look to find out if a rose has thorns or not. At our last place some were quite lethal and as starting from scratch (boom boom) I'd prefer to avoid the really gnarly ones. The rose sites I'm looking at give all sorts of details on height width smell position, but seem awfully quiet on the issue of thorns.

If you phone or email David Austin roses, they are very good about answering specific questions like this.

Zephirine Drouhin is completely thornless. It's a climber, with deep pink, smallish flowers which have a lovely scent. And it's also happy in shade (will go against a north wall). One of my top roses of all time.
