What should I do with a canna(?) plant

I have a canna plant (not sure of the spelling) and it has been quite happy until this cold snap - now it looks all withered as does the Eucylptus plant. Should I bring them inside? I am a hopeless plant person and hoping you can help

this site says that they should be brought inside. It gives some useful tips for looking after them.

This might help - might be a bit late if the frost has got them already though.

The Eucalyptus should be OK, they're generally tough as old boots!

My sister is something of gardening buff and told me that mine could probably be left in the garden (in London) - I was to cut off the stems once blackened by frost and then cover the stumps with a mulch, eg dead leaves. I did this last year, and got healthy stems but no flowers, but they were new to the garden then. I've covered them with cocoa shell mulch this year and am hoping for flowers next year. I might also water them a bit more next year, I think they were too dry this summer.

Thanks for advice - I think the canna might be passed saving, though I'll give it a go
