I have just planted some daffs......

I got a boxfull of 60 for 50p...and tommorow I am going to lay turf over the top of them...will they come up throught the grass in spring or have I just wasted 50p and 20 mins of energy?

DD came home from school yesterday with the marie curie daffodil bulb appeal. I thought that they were a little late tbh although we've planted them so we'll see too!

They were selling odd all the spring planting bulbs for 50p. have now spent about 8 quid on about a zillion bulbs(crocus/something like snowdrops/hyacinth). Glad they will come up Gonna have a fab garden

No squirrels though i do have some poxy cats who like to dig up the bulbs then poop on them

They sound like very mean cats. I've never hear of vandal cats before.

They are a new breed who hang round on the fences waiting for me to plant things they also terrorise my big wuss of a cat

Ok, should these be up yet? I seem to have some daffs sprouting but I have planted LOADS and theres only about 10 up, im thinking they are last years too....should my bargains be up yet or have they been slugs supper?

Right...I have just noticed some HUMPS in my nice new lawn...the daffs are not breaking through they are lifting the damn lawn
Before I go out and lovingly cut a whole for each clump is there any thing else I could do????

Ours have only really started to appear in the past week but are coming through very quickly now.
