Help! What can I do with these? : )

We have nine ceramic tubes in our garden, each one is about a foot high and about 10" in diameter. They were in our garden when we moved in last year and we'd love to do something with them as they seem to be crying out to be planted up with something - but what?!

Does anyone have any ideas? I assume we'd have to put them on a bed so whatever plant we put in could root through the bottom.

What is" bump"? I keep seeing it.
They sound like chimney pots from dimensions and materials described, so should be good for planting most things. Strawberries obviously as they can trail down the sides, mint, thyme etc would also work well.
Carrots would be fine in those too, you could put sand/soil mixture and make sure no stones get in for really straight carrots.
If you're in the south, a fig might be a good idea as restricting the roots actually makes it fruit better. You would need to water them more frequently than a plastic pot of the same size though, as water will be lost through the sides.

Agree with strawberries, they could tumble down the sides.

How about clustering them together and making a herb garden? Mint def needs planting in a pot otherwise it runs riot.

Or small patio roses, would look stunning.

Thanks for the suggestions - I'm loving the idea of strawberries, or a herb garden. Will have to go for a wander round the garden centre and see what I can get .
