Tree surgery prices

Does anyone have a clue approximately how much a week's worth of tree surgery work for 3 men should be? We are mainly looking at tree felling, and the chap has estimated it will all take a week - but its pretty expensive. Anyone have any experience they can share, please?

It'll depend on the number of trees and difficulty. We had 3 trees cut down - took a day and cost about £1k Inc vat (4 years ago). This is in London.

There were 2 or 3 men, can't remember.

South east cheapest quote I got was £425 per day for two of them. I would get lots of quotes though as there was a huge variation.

We had quotes ranging from £290 - £995 for a days work felling several very large conifers and an ash, so make sure you shop around!

We paid around £200 for a serious 'hair cut' for one tree (two men, about half a day including taking away all of the branches etc.). I would shop around but also try to find someone on recommendation.

I would estimate about £3k with a day rate of about £200.

Neighbour has a preservation order on her oak trees. She paid £800 last year for a heavy trim- Sth East. 2-3 men and took less than a day.
