Please Help! How can i get rid of my grass?

It drives me mad. It is a small area but due to health problems i can not mow it

We are going to put slates next summer anyway but i need to do something now as it keeps growing, it is quite long now . I think its mixed with field grass?

I've tried a Wilkinsons version of Round Up but nothing much happened.
I am really desperate . Any ideas?

Cover with some plastic, secured at the edges with bricks. Hopefully, it will die without sunlight, and will be easy to dig up once it has all died.

Do i have to cut the grass first?
