Does anyone press their own apple juice?

Our ancient apple tree (here when we moved in a few years ago) is completely laden with apples.

They are ok to eat - I don't know the variety but they are on the sour side. Last year I dried and pureed, but this year I'd like to juice them.

I've googled and I'm confused. It seems like I need to get one gadget to crush, and another to press?

Can anyone give me an idiot's guide please?

we bought a juicer last year and just chuck em in (literally)

it's this one here

you could then freeze it in plastic bottles? and use as and when you need

as per [[http://hubpages.com/hub/How-To-Make-and-Freeze-Your-Own-Fruit-Juice this article

We're in Somerset too and have taken our apples to a community apple press a few times - and made variously cider and apple juice from them depending on variety.

There are a few around here.

Brilliant thank you.

Furball that juicer looks great and seems to make the process much simpler than I thought!

Daisy that sounds like an amazing plan - we are in the heart of cider country here with loads of orchards so I bet we can find something locally. Sounds like a lot of fun and I'm sure DD would enjoy it too. Thank you for the suggestion.
