anyone had a problem with their MAHONIA this year?

I have a lovely one around 12 feet high against a fence in a NE position, so gets morning sun but then it's cool and shady. This season it has lost lots of leaves and is looking sad.

I wondered if it was drought but it's not perking up even after watering and yet it is supposed to be very hardy.

any ideas?

Ours are all fine. Have you looked at the stems and undersides of the leaves to see if there are signs of scale or other pests?
