Ouch my hands..gooseberries galore!

I've just picked 3 1/2 llbs of gooseberries from the one bush in our front garden. My poor hands, those thorns are the devil's work itself!

How do pigeons manage to strip a whole bush by themselves without being impaled?!

I sympathise...I am covered in sratches off ours! I havent weighed them yet but got two big bowl fulls. Planning on freezing most for crumble but also making this which we've made 3 times now and it is just gorgeous. Not good for my waistline though!

Ooh that looks delicious - duly bookmarked! I'm going to deal with them tonight and that recipe looks like a winner!

it really is yummy. We have used half the butter stated every time and its been lovely, not sure what difference adding the full amount would make. I just couldn't bring myself to use a whole tub!
