Greenfly/Aphid Spray - for salad????

My salads and strawberries are under attack from various aphids (green, white and black flies...) I have basil next to them to repel, but has not made a difference...no ladybirds in sight either

I would rather use a natural and or organic remedy, especially on leaves and fruits that are going to be eaten!

Does anyone have any suggestions????

Has anyone tried the Bayer Organic Pest Spray in blue bottle?
What about home made sprays with tomato leaves/garlic/soap?
Is soap spray safe on lettuce????

thanks!!!

I would spray with fairy liquid solution, it blocks their breathing holes and they smother, otherwise you could plant marigolds next to them and I've also heard pennyroyal keeps bugs away (I'm planning on doing that). The organic bug sprays work on a surfactant-basis, same a dishwashing liq. I also caught every spider I could find last year and let them loose in the tomoatoes, their webs caught so many critters!

Enjoy!

Yep I spray (it's not on salad - think they're dianthus maybe?) with a powerful jet of soapy water that blasts them off. Maybe not on salad but it would be fine on strawberries...
