one is a peach tree( in a pot) other is a tree fern.

The tree fern didn't make it through the winter :( it's about 5ft so need similar size plant and needs to go in a pot.

The peach tree needs replacing with something similar, again in a pot.

Been round the garden centre but no inspiration.

I like Acers but £60 ish for the size we want Shock

We have an Acer and put it in the garage over the winter to protect it. It is beautiful again already. We were also told we could wrap it in fleece for the winter.

I love the twisted hazels but they are £££ as well.

I always think that fruit trees which actually do produce fruit are fabulous in a garden. You get blossom in Spring, lovely foliage in summer and fruit in late summer/autumn so you get your money's worth so to speak.

Sorry I can't suggest something more startling and inspired.

What about a camellia to replace the tree fern? It would be fine in a pot and should make it through the winter....

We've got quite a few fruit trees so I tend to aim that way. Fancy another fig but it might be a bit wider than the peach and clash with the other plants.
